Healthy Hair, Be Weave It or Not Part I The Weave

It's true that you can grow healthy hair with a weave. Leave a comment, and tell me what you think?

Types of Weaving:

Bonding- This is the worst way your stylist can install your weave. The glue tears the hair off. Just think about it.....it's glue. I recommend no one glue in hair. Maybe quick weaves? Not sure, what do you think?
Tracks- The weave is sewn directly onto the hair, by braiding the hair. When your hair grows this method allows the hair to not look bulky. You can leave some of the hair out in the front to blend in with the weave for a more natural look.
Net or Cap method- The best method. Why? The net covers the braids, and your stylist sews the weave onto the net. The weave is not sewn on the hair, and this allows the hair to grow to it's full potential.
First be advised, when purchasing hair you get what you pay for. Cheap hair is cheap for a reason.
Remi Hair: AKA Virgin hair. This hair can be reused for years with proper care. Remi hair is directly shaved and gathered so all the strands go in the same direction. The hair remains undisturbed so it will last longer. Remi hair may be expenses but it avoids having to keep buying hair. More about Remi hair go to
Maintaining your Weave:
Depending on the type of hair you purchase, treat it like it's your real hair. Make sure it's washed and conditioned. You can even wrap it up at night. You can wash and condition the weave, but not like you do your real hair. I heard of a squish method. The squish method is where you squish shampoo through the hair.
Please do not allow your weave to start looking worn and abused. Since your hair is growing underneath, you need to redo the weave at least every three months. (Hoping you bought the good hair) Also when it becomes loose, you can have your stylist tighten the weave.
Please have your stylist take your weave out if you don't know how. Why cut out hair you worked so hard to grow?
After you take the weave out, make sure you deep condition your hair. Cut your permed hair to the length you want. If you are not transitioning still have the ends clip and keep your hair well moisturized.

Is your hair shedding or breaking off?

I hate combing and seeing hair in my comb. The first thing that comes to mind, is my hair's unhealthy or weak. Well little did I know till recently, my hair could be shedding naturally, and not just breaking off.

Shedding:

Is actually a normal process of hair growth. You will know that your hair is shedding when you see a white bulb on the end of the hair you find in the comb, floor or wherever you find it. This piece of hair has shed because another piece will push through. Shedding will also occur because of pregnancy, stress, and hormonal changes.

Breakage:

Occurs when the hair becomes weak, and breaks off. Hair weakens from lack of nutrition, perms, permanent curls, dyes, excessive heat, dryness, and the list goes on.

Preventing Breakage: With brittle and dry hair, use a moisture shampoo, and conditioner. For hair that has been permed or dyed, the structure has been changed lacking nutrients and hydration. Take vitamins ,use water-based products (moisturizers), and or apply oil to the hair everyday. Everyone may not need to add oil to their hair every day.

360 Degrees IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

MEN

Hey, the brush waves is another name for it. Here are some suggestions on how to get the look. If you have some of your own, lets hear it. Oh yeah, first let me educate you on the "360" with a few simple facts:

It's a pattern that grows naturally in men's hair.

It's texture and style is specific to African American men.

It's discovery came about by repeatedly brushing the hair. ( Simple, but true)

Suggestions :

1. Hair cut has to be short. How short? I heard 1 1/2 inch, but you tell me.

2. You need a pomade to intensify the waves.

3. Nylon scarf. To hold the look in place.

Product suggestion: A mosturizing shampoo, and conditioner!!!, 360 style, and carrot oil creme. Oh, and don't forget that scarf.
